Closet Drawer Organizer – Emptying and removing the drawers of a closet makes the piece lighter when moved. There is not a single way to extract a closet feeder. Many manufacturers use a clamping mechanism to prevent drawers from completely pulling out accidentally, while other manufacturers use no capture system or track at all. The capture systems are similar to the slides and locks of kitchen cabinets and some drawers of household appliances. Regardless of the cabinet, no tools are needed to remove the drawers.
Open the drawers and extract the contents. Open one drawer at a time and close it before opening another drawer. This helps prevent the cabinet from accidentally tipping over. Extend the top drawer completely. Some armoire drawers simply pull out of the unit. Press the left side of the latch, and push the right side down the latch if your drawer uses latches that pivot on the front of the side slides. Once the slide latches are unlocked, remove the drawer from the cabinet.

Take the side of the drawer with your hands, if your drawer has tabs that protrude through a slot in the slides. And then, press the tabs towards the drawer with your thumbs, and pull the drawer away from the unit. Push up on the tab of the lever under the back of the drawer, if the drawer of your cabinet uses a locking tab underneath. Pull the drawer forward with the tongue of the lever against the bottom. Remove the cabinet drawer. Repeat for the drawers that are left in the closet.
