Bifold Closet Doors – Folding cabinet doors with slats are a common accessory in rooms throughout America and elsewhere. Because the slats sit at an angle, “floating” on top of each other and attached to the rest of the door just at both ends. It is relatively common for the slats to break. Instead of replacing the entire door, however, you just have to fix the broken bar, to save yourself some money and time.
Sand outside of the area where the path joins the door. As well as any area where there are cracks and breaks in the lath itself. This eliminates splinters and softens imperfections. Clean sandpaper dust and any other particles, both on the batten itself and on the door when the slat is fixed. Replace the door cleat in the same position you had before it broke. Put the wood glue on the ribbon, and hold it in place until the glue will get a hold. Next, allow the glue to dry completely.

Fill the cracks in the lamina propria with wood putty and apply a small amount of putty to the area where the slat meets the rest of the door. Sand the areas where the wood putty was applied to achieve a smooth finish. Use a rag to clean the sandpaper dust. The first and paint the entire door or apply a stain. Allow the paint or stain to dry completely before opening or closing the doors of the folding cabinets.
