Teak Shower Bench – Teak is a wood found naturally in the eastern hemisphere. It is a hardwood that is known to have excellent ability to resist moisture. Teak is an expensive wood in the United States because of the distance that has to be sent, but it is preferred for chairs for a shower and other furniture by consumers because of its beautiful appearance. The construction of a teak shower bench will be more expensive than the construction of a similar cedar bench. However, it will cost much less to build your own than it would cost to buy one.
Prepare the board and lay it down. Place the flat frame and the position of the 15-inch teak boards perpendicular to the inside corners of the frame. Screw through the corners of the frame with four screws for each corner to secure the 15-inch plates. These plates are the legs to your bank. The legs should be even to ensure that your bench does not wobble.

Position the bench upright and screw the 11-inch panels to the top of the frame. They should be parallel with the 11-inch sides of the frame. The ends should be level with the 16-inch side of the frame. The two outer plates must be flush with the 11-inch sides of the frame. Sand the bench with medium sandpaper and then fine grade to avoid splinters. Wipe the bench with a damp cloth before use.
